Product Updates
New: Clip Transitions, Custom Video Intros, and More
Smooth transitions between clips, custom video intros and outros, and transitions from your intro into the main recording — all in this update.
Clip Transitions
You can now add smooth transitions between clips on your timeline. Right-click any clip and choose Add Transition to get started.
We've included 8 transition types to choose from:
- Crossfade — A clean, natural dissolve between clips
- Dip to Black / Dip to White — Fade through a solid color for a dramatic beat
- Blur Dissolve — A soft, dreamy blend with a gentle blur at the midpoint
- Zoom Dissolve — The outgoing clip zooms in slightly as it fades away
- Slide Left / Slide Right — Clips slide on and off screen
- Push — The new clip pushes the old one off the edge
Click the yellow diamond badge between clips to adjust the transition type and duration at any time. Transitions default to 1 second but can go from 0.1s up to 10s.
Both the preview and the exported video show the transition effect — preview uses real-time SwiftUI rendering, and export uses GPU-accelerated Metal shaders for perfectly smooth results.
Custom Video Intros and Outros
You're no longer limited to the built-in animated templates for your intros and outros. You can now use any video file — your branded intro animation, an animated logo, a custom ending screen, or anything else.
Just open the intro/outro editor, click Use Custom Video, and select a .mov or .mp4 file. The duration is set automatically, and the video plays right in the preview panel. Remove it anytime to go back to the animated template.
Intro and Outro Transitions
The handoff between your intro and the main recording can now be smooth instead of a hard cut. In the intro/outro editor, choose a transition type and set the duration — the intro will gradually blend into your recording using the selected effect.
This works with both animated templates and custom video intros. Crossfade at 20–30% is a great starting point.
