Introducing Title Cards: Add Chapter Headings Between Clips
Create professional demo videos and tutorials without leaving Highlight Studio. Insert styled title cards between clips for chapter headings, section breaks, and more.
We've heard from users who assemble demo videos and software tutorials that they often need to add text screens between video clips — chapter headings like "Step 1: Installation" or section breaks between different parts of a demo. Until now, that meant exporting and re-editing in a separate video editor.
Not anymore. Title Cards let you insert fully customizable text screens directly between clips in your Highlight Studio timeline.
How It Works
Right-click any clip in your timeline and choose "Insert Title Card After". A new title card segment appears between that clip and the next one, right in the video track.
Click the title card to select it and the editor panel opens in the sidebar where you can customize everything:
- Title and subtitle text — type whatever you need
- Typography — font size (16–96pt), weight (Regular to Heavy), and color for both title and subtitle
- Background — solid color, gradient with custom colors, or a background image
- Animation — choose from 6 styles: Fade In, Slide Up, Slide Left, Zoom In, Minimal, or Bold
- Duration — set via slider (1–15 seconds) or drag the right edge handle directly on the timeline
Perfect For
- Software tutorials — "Chapter 1: Getting Started", "Chapter 2: Advanced Features"
- Demo videos — section breaks between different product areas
- Presentations — title slides between screen recording segments
- Training content — step-by-step labels between workflow recordings
Per-Project Branding
In the same update, we've made Brand Kit settings per-project. Your logo, colors, watermark, and camera branding now save with each project file. This means you can work on videos for different clients or teams without constantly switching branding settings.
New projects automatically inherit your global brand kit, and any changes you make save to both the project and your global defaults.
Other Improvements
- Intro/Outro controls — click to select, Delete key to remove, right-click for options
- Outro playback fix — the outro now plays correctly in preview
- Comment timestamps — now show the correct video time when intro/outro are present
- Screenshot blur export — blur annotations now match preview intensity in exported images
Title cards and per-project branding are available now. Update to the latest version to start using them.
