Credits System
Certain AI-powered features in Highlight Studio consume credits. Credits are a simple way to pay for cloud-based processing.
What Uses Credits
Credits are consumed by features that require cloud AI processing:
- AI Transcription — Generating subtitles from your audio
- Other AI-powered features as they are added
The exact credit cost for each feature is shown in your profile popover under Costs.
Checking Your Balance
Your current credit balance is displayed:
- In the top-right corner of the welcome screen (sparkle icon with number)
- In the profile popover under Available
Buying Credits
When you need more credits:
- Click your credit balance or the Upgrade button on the welcome screen.
- Choose a credit package from the available options.
- Complete the purchase through the Mac App Store or the in-app payment flow.
Credits are added to your account instantly after purchase and never expire.
Lifetime Usage
Your profile shows both your current balance and your lifetime credit usage, so you can track total consumption over time.
