License and Plans

Highlight Studio offers a Free plan and a Pro plan with additional features.

Free Plan

The Free plan includes:

Screen and window recording
Basic editing (splitting, trimming, speed)
Background and canvas styling
Cursor effects
Export up to 720p (Medium quality)

Pro Plan

Upgrading to Pro unlocks:

Zoom and pan effects — Dynamic focus animations
Camera overlay — Face cam with virtual backgrounds
Device frames — Professional iOS device bezels
AI subtitles — Automatic transcription and styling
Annotations — Text, shapes, arrows, blur, and images
Branding — Watermarks, intros, outros, and brand kit
GIF export — Animated GIF output
Export up to source resolution — Full quality exports

Activating a License

You can purchase a license through the app by clicking Upgrade on the welcome screen, or through the Mac App Store. Your license is linked to your account and activates automatically upon purchase.

License Badge

Your license status is shown as a badge in the bottom corner of the welcome screen. A green checkmark indicates an active Pro license.
