Custom Video Intros and Outros

Overview

Highlight Studio lets you use any video file as your intro or outro. This is perfect for branded intros you've already created, animated logos, or custom ending screens.

Setting a Custom Video Intro or Outro

  1. Open the Branding settings panel in the inspector.
  2. Click Edit on your intro or outro template.
  3. In the editor, look for the Source card in the General tab.
  4. Click Use Custom Video and select a .mov or .mp4 file.
  5. The duration is automatically set to match the video length.

Removing a Custom Video

To go back to the animated template, click the X button next to the video filename in the Source card. The animated template with your Brand Kit settings will be used again.

Transitions

Custom video intros and outros support the same transitions as animated templates. In the editor's Transition card, you can:

  • Choose a transition type (crossfade, dip to black, blur dissolve, etc.) for the handoff between your intro video and the main recording.
  • Adjust how much of the intro or outro is used for the transition with the Duration slider (10%–50%).

Tips

  • Keep intro videos short — 2–5 seconds works well for most content.
  • Match the aspect ratio of your intro video to your project for the best look.
  • Crossfade is the most popular transition for custom intros.
  • The custom video plays in the preview panel so you can see exactly how it will look before exporting.
