Exporting Your Video

When you are finished editing, export your video to share it with the world.

How to Export

  1. Press Cmd+E or click the Export button in the toolbar.
  2. Choose your export format and quality settings.
  3. Select a save location and filename (or use the auto-generated name).
  4. Click Export to begin rendering.

Export Formats

  • MP4 - Standard video format, compatible with all platforms and players.
  • GIF - Animated GIF format for short clips (Pro feature).
  • Camera Only - Export just the camera overlay footage without the screen recording.

Quality Levels

  • Medium (720p) - Good for quick sharing. Available on the free tier.
  • High (1080p) - Full HD quality for most use cases.
  • Ultra (1440p) - Extra-sharp output for high-resolution displays.
  • Source - Exports at your original recording resolution for maximum quality.

The export includes all elements of your project:

  • All video and audio tracks mixed together
  • Camera overlay with position and timing
  • Zoom and pan effects
  • Annotations and visual effects
  • Cursor with styling and smoothing
  • Subtitles with all styling properties

Rendering Performance

Highlight Studio uses Metal-based GPU rendering for fast exports. A progress bar shows real-time export progress, and file size is estimated before you begin.
