GIF Export

GIF Export

Create animated GIFs from your recordings — perfect for quick demos, documentation, and sharing in chat.

GIF Export Settings

  • Frame Rate — Choose from 15, 20, 25, or 30 fps. Lower frame rates produce smaller files; higher rates give smoother animation.
  • Size Presets — Select from predefined output sizes optimized for different use cases.
  • Looping — Toggle whether the GIF loops continuously or plays once.

How to Export a GIF

  1. Open the export dialog with Cmd+E.
  2. Select GIF as the output format.
  3. Configure frame rate, size, and looping preferences.
  4. Click Export to render the GIF.

Share Links

After exporting a GIF, you can create a share link to share it instantly. The GIF is uploaded to Highlight Studio's cloud and you receive a URL you can paste anywhere.

Tips for Smaller GIFs

  • Keep clips short — GIFs are best for 5-15 second demos.
  • Use 15 fps for documentation and screenshots.
  • Choose a smaller size preset if file size matters.
  • Trim unnecessary content before exporting.
