Clip Audio Controls — Mute and Volume

Per-Clip Audio Control

Every clip on your timeline has its own volume and mute settings. This gives you fine-grained control over audio — for example, you can mute a clip where you were coughing, or lower the volume on a noisy section while keeping the rest at full volume.

How to Mute a Clip

  1. Right-click on any clip in the timeline.
  2. Select Mute Audio from the context menu.
  3. A small red badge with a speaker icon appears on the clip to indicate it's muted.
  4. To unmute, right-click again and select Unmute Audio.

How to Adjust Clip Volume

  1. Right-click on a clip in the timeline.
  2. Hover over the Volume submenu.
  3. Choose a preset level: 100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, or 10%.
  4. A gray badge showing the percentage appears on the clip.

Tips

  • When you split a clip, both halves keep the original volume and mute settings.
  • Muted clips still show video — only their audio is silenced.
  • Volume changes apply to the exported video too, not just preview.
  • You can combine per-clip volume with the track-level mute for even more control.
