Timeline Navigation

Efficient navigation is key to a fast editing workflow. Highlight Studio provides several ways to move through your timeline.

Playback Controls

Space - Play or pause the video.
K - Pause playback.
Left/Right Arrow - Step forward or backward by one frame.
J / L - Jump backward or forward by 1 second.
Cmd+Left Arrow - Jump to the beginning of the timeline.
Cmd+Right Arrow - Jump to the end of the timeline.

Timeline Zoom

Adjust the timeline zoom level (1x to 5x) to see more or less detail. Zooming in helps with precise frame-level editing, while zooming out gives you an overview of the entire project.

Playhead

The playhead is the vertical line indicating your current position in the timeline. Click anywhere on the time ruler to move the playhead to that position. All editing operations (splitting, adding effects) happen at the playhead position.
