3D Motion Effect

3D Motion Effect

The 3D motion effect adds a subtle perspective tilt to your recording that follows your cursor movement, giving your video a dynamic, polished feel.

How It Works

When enabled, Highlight Studio tracks your cursor position during playback and applies a gentle 3D perspective transform to the video canvas. As your cursor moves left, right, up, or down, the video tilts slightly in that direction, creating a sense of depth.

Enabling 3D Motion

  1. Open the Visual Effects section in the inspector panel.
  2. Find the 3D Motion toggle and enable it.
  3. Adjust the Motion Intensity slider to control how pronounced the effect is (0.0 to 1.0).

Intensity Guide

  • Low (0.1–0.3) — Subtle, barely noticeable tilt. Good for professional demos.
  • Medium (0.4–0.6) — Noticeable depth effect. Works well for tutorials and walkthroughs.
  • High (0.7–1.0) — Dramatic tilt. Best for creative or showcase content.

Notes

  • This feature is marked as experimental and may evolve in future updates.
  • The effect relies on recorded cursor data, so it works best with screen and window recordings where cursor movement was captured.
  • The 3D tilt is rendered in the final export.
