Zoom and Pan Effects

Zoom and Pan Effects

Zoom effects let you draw the viewer's attention to specific parts of your screen recording, making demos and tutorials much easier to follow.

Automatic Zoom Suggestions

Highlight Studio analyzes your cursor clicks during recording and automatically suggests zoom regions at points where you clicked. You can:

  • Accept a suggestion to apply the zoom effect.
  • Dismiss suggestions you do not need.
  • Modify accepted suggestions to fine-tune timing and position.

Manual Zoom Regions

Create zoom effects manually by adding a zoom region at any point in your timeline:

  • Focus Point - Set the X and Y coordinates of where the zoom should center.
  • Zoom Level - Choose how far to zoom in, with preset levels or custom values.

Timing Controls

Each zoom effect has three phases you can control:

  • Ease In - The duration of the zoom-in animation.
  • Hold - How long the zoom stays at full level.
  • Ease Out - The duration of the zoom-out animation back to normal view.

Easing Curves

Choose from several easing options to control how the zoom animation feels:

  • Linear - Constant speed
  • Ease In - Starts slow, accelerates
  • Ease Out - Starts fast, decelerates
  • Cubic variants - Smooth, natural-feeling motion

Zoom effects are rendered in the final export and appear as indicators on the timeline for easy management.
